August 16 is Inauguration day here in the Dominican Republic. It is a very big celebration. I live in Santo Domingo the capital of the Dominican Republic so I went down to the Malecon which is the road that runs alongside the Ocean. They had a parade for the newly elected President. The parade was very impressive, there were troops from every branch of the military, policemen, firefighters, rescue workers and bands from every branch of the military. The street was lined deep with people watching the festivities. When the Navy passed by the ships were also going by in the ocean, when the Air Force went by the planes were doing fly bys overhead it was a great sight to see and watch all the people involved in the parade. The parade lasted about an hour and a half.

16 de agosto es el día de la inauguración aquí en la República Dominicana. Es una celebración muy grande. Yo vivo en Santo Domingo, la capital de la República Dominicana, así que fui hasta el Malecón, que es la carretera que bordea el océano. Ellos tuvieron un desfile para el nuevo presidente electo. El desfile fue muy impresionante, había tropas de todas las ramas de los militares, policías, bomberos, trabajadores de rescate y bandas de todas las ramas de las fuerzas armadas. La calle estaba llena de profundidad con personas que ven las festividades. Cuando la Marina de Guerra aprobada por las naves también estaban pasando por en el océano, cuando la Fuerza Aérea fue por los aviones estaban haciendo bys de la mosca de arriba fue un gran espectáculo de ver y observar todas las personas involucradas en el desfile. El desfile duró aproximadamente una hora y media.
